FOR ORGANISATIONS
TRAINING FOR THE SCOTTISH CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
Scots Law Talks works with organisations to deliver clear, practical training on the Scottish criminal courts, sentencing, and legal decision-making.
Our approach focuses on making complex legal processes understandable, without oversimplifying them. Training is designed to feel accessible and engaging, while still providing the depth and clarity organisations need.

Our approach
Legal training can often feel overly technical or difficult to apply in practice.
Our sessions are designed to be:
-
clear and accessible, without unnecessary jargon
-
grounded in real processes and real cases
-
structured to support practical understanding
-
engaging without losing professionalism or substance

The focus is always on helping staff understand the system they are working within, so they can engage with it more confidently and effectively.

MAKING SCOTS LAW ACCESSIBLE AND ENGAGING
Ready, Set, Verdict!
An interactive session where participants take on the role of a jury, working in small groups to consider a series of real Scottish criminal cases and reach collective verdicts before comparing them with the decisions of the courts.
Participants are guided through each case step by step, with time to discuss, debate, and reflect, building confidence in decision-making while recognising that questions of guilt are rarely straightforward.

Suitable for ages 14+. The session includes discussion of criminal offences such as assault and drug-related behaviour, presented in a non-graphic and age-appropriate way.
