SCOTS LAW TALKS
WHAT IS ON DEMAND?
We’ve loved taking Scots Law Talks across Scotland — delivering events in local communities and meeting so many of you along the way. But we also heard your feedback: some of you want the flexibility to access our events from home and at a time that suits your schedule.

That’s why we created Scots Law Talks On Demand. This new platform offers our much-loved events in a fully online, fully accessible format — while still keeping the interactive experience and thought-provoking content that makes our sessions so unique. Whether you’re learning on the sofa or tuning in after work, you can now explore Scots law in your own time, without missing out on what makes our events special.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Getting started is simple! Once you've decided to take part in an On Demand Event, you'll be asked to create a free Wix account. This is just to make sure your access to our secure online learning platform is protected.
After you've signed up, we'll grant you access to the Event. This might take a short while, but don’t worry – you’ll receive an email as soon as your access is ready.
Once your payment is confirmed, you're good to go! You can begin the Event straight away, and your progress will be saved so you can return to it whenever it suits you.
When you complete the Event, you'll receive a badge of completion – perfect for downloading or sharing on social media.

THE GUILTY ACT
Members of the Jury: the case of Mr Ernest Ramsay will be examined throughout this online event. Then you must determine his fate. Will you accept his defence? Will you find him innocent or guilty? The decision rests with you.

After touring The Guilty Act across Scotland, we’re delighted to offer this popular talk in a brand new format — fully online and available on demand, so you can take part whenever it suits you.

In this talk, we promise Real Cases, Real Crimes, Real Scotland.
But what is a guilty act? What happens if you commit an offence by accident? Can alcohol or drugs ever excuse crime?

We will explore the 'guilty act' through looking at true crime cases which have shaped the law. You'll have the opportunity to gain an understanding of key aspects of criminal law in Scotland and ponder challenging questions on the real cases that we will consider.

Recommended those who engage with this content are aged 16+ due to mature themes and discussion on crimes, harm and injury.
